Reader's Guide:

We’re finishing the book of Leviticus—a book that describes God’s nature and the ideal relationship he wanted to have with his chosen nation. As we wrap up the book, we’ll see three more themes playing loud and clear:

  • First, that God’s ways are a blessing to those who will follow them (Lv. 26, the blessings section).
  • Second, that man’s ways bring about curses upon those who choose them (Lv. 26, the curses section).
  • And third, that God’s people have always been called to be serious in dedicating everything of ourselves to him (Lev. 27).

As soon as we’re done with Leviticus, we’ll embark on reading Numbers. The opening chapters (Thursday and Friday’s readings) will give a sense of scale to the Israelite nation, and then the detailed rundown of where they were to camp will remind us that YHWH was to be at the center of everything for them.
